The reason for "OP" characters

18 replies 481 views Edited Jan 27, 2013

*May not be true, just a conspiracy, or whatever you call these things

THE Money+Popularity. Think about it.. The really popular and money making characters are Overpowered. (MGS, God of War, UNCHARTED, Dmc, sly cooper, and even rathcet and clank). The rest are not as popular and didn't offer enough money or something.

Not just that, but the OP characters are usually really easy to use, since they are the most popular in this game.

My conspiracy may be off, but if you just look through the cast, its kind of true in a certain aspect.

Sly Cooper has never been THAT popular... or inFamous. Which is kind of sad, because Sucker Punch make really well-designed games.

I tend to never side with conspiracy theories. Yours is a good example why lol. They are easy to use because of their moves from their games (which were implemented into this game) are good. Also, the characters that are OP are bad@#$# anyway, so it makes sense.

Or the best theory why is "just because the developers made them this way."

An interesting concept, but at that rate... Characters like Jak would definitely be much better than Sly.

Well by your logic Spider-Man should be god plus 2 tier in the Marvel vs. Capcom games.

By his logic? He's talking about this game. Lol. My theory behind kratos being op in this game is Sony Monica studios help must've been just making kratos and they were all like hey guys let's make kratos the best character in this game cause like **bleep** you.

I'm just using an example for his reasoning of "This character is overpowered because his/her game is is more popular than the rest."

So, by your logic, Kat and Emmett will both be **bleep** characters because their games weren't world-shattering hits like God of War or Uncharted? That explains why Fat Princess and Sackboy are so total garbage.

Fat Princess is probably the best character in this game, except for sly.

So... if we can get a Call of Duty character in the game, the developers can sell more copies based on his inclusion, make him completely OP, and use the profits to buy the rights to more characters! And as a community we could ban him from tournaments just like Meta Knight! It's a win-win!
