First of all, it's sad that the people who have played this game at launch have all left the game, thus reducing the number of people who play this game from maybe 1000 daily to maybe 100.
And then out of those 100, 40 play FFA and 40 play 2v2. The rest just do whatever, making only about 5 people free to play 1v1. Where they are all busy playing with other people.
So what if I just want to plug the game in and go into Quick Match and 1v1 with someone instead of waiting to invite someone into Versus Match? Well, I can't. I either have to target 2 sole players in Stock FFA and then leave a player for last - something which I don't want to do due to the trolling nature of FFA - or wait, with patience, a half an hour until someone is free to 1v1 - patience which I don't have.
So I just play around in Practice Mode with frame traps and tech and whatnot, and there's no one to test it with because literally there's so few people playing at any time of the day. If there was an actual 1v1 mode, people who aren't from these forums would actually go into that mode and overall, we would be able to test the game more in 1v1.
Unfortunately, there is no 1v1 mode, and it is the only way I have found to enjoy the game. My patience is running thin with this game. I want to get better and have fun with this game, and the best way to do that is in a 1v1 setting. But there are so few people playing this game that it takes ages to get a good 1v1 so I can get better.
This is the dilemma I'm facing. I mean, it'd be great if there was a 1v1 mode added in the patch. But that is not something that will likely happen.
But...I don't have friends. Everybody here knows that.
Look, my point is, I would really like a 1v1 mode so I can consistently get better in 1v1. Because as it stands, I suck at this game and no one wants to play it.
As for your dilemma, not much that can be done other than find people who are usually online when you are who are decent. Eternux for example plays quite a bit so he might be a good person to add if you haven't already (also plants a lot of the cast well so you can get more than just Dante practice). The...chat...is also often filled with a few decent players usually to play. When I wake up in the morning there aren't many people for me to play (darn time difference) so I either play some other game or do other stuff. Surfing the forums can pass the time while you wait.
