The Journey To Black Belt

33 replies 300 views Edited Jan 22, 2013
Me and my friend Txelmo decided to do some ranked match. I was a red belt 30, he was purple belt 20. He plays one of the best drakes I've ever seen, I play a **bleep** good Big Daddy. We're flying through competition, using techniques I've never seen. We both hit brown belt, and decide to push it. We win a few, lose to some spammers, win, lose to some cheap **bleep** people. (BTW, heroicmoises, the 2100 black belt in 2v2, simply spams slys barrel and electric roll while his jak friend spams his blaster.) It finally comes down to us against some 200 black belts, and we DOMINATE them. Shattered. Now I'm Black Belt, and hes almost black belt. ^.^ shout out to Tex for playing a mean drake, and shout out to everyone we played for playing some good clean matches, minus a few people.

Now if I don't get my **bleep** titles, Ima flip a baby carriage.

Kind of reminds me of when my partner had no belt and I had a low purple, and we plowed are way up the ranks till both of us were black. Good times.

I actually think I just played you guys tonight. In quickmatch. Your an evil cole player?

If so:

1. Your boys Drake needs a little work. He can link square combos into other squares (easy enough) but I would recover out of his combos when he tried to link a foward square to the run n gun and a few other minor things which didn't lead to me winning or anything, but he was going for his level 3 the whole dame and didn't get it. I got 3 lvl 2's and one or two level 1's meaning easily could have used level 3.

2. I give you both props though for having excelent defensive skills though. You did a significantly better job then your average player at blocking and dodging.

You guys did win because my randomly given partner was more than terrible and just died the whole match, but I am a FFA player, I only do 2v2 in quickmatch because 2v2 is deffinately the more competitive game type.

Umm, that doesn't sound even close to Heroicmoises' play style. :smileyindifferent:. If he "spams" 2 moves, its teleport and counter.

Ok nvm then. the dude i faced deffinately had Tex in his name though no doubt about that. and probs for using big daddy, I am probably just as good with big daddy as my main character, I just die so much because his hit box is massive and dodge goes literally no where.

Any pointers on what you do that works to get a clean W with minimal deaths?

Air over triangle. a lot. Great mobility and leads into ap burst combos. I also make great use of his ice. Comes in handy. Ground smash is great, but NEVER start it in the ground. Start it in the air, and ONLY if you can get both opponents, or if your partner handles the other. Tornado, A LOT. With ice always out, and tornado, you control the area.
