Wow, I thought Sony had all the Pub rights, since they Pubd the first 2, any Idea who owns it?
Yeah I thought the same thing until recently... turns out they just made a publishing deal with the devs, like with Crash and Spyro. Whoever owned the studio before it went under must have the rights to the IP. If Wiki is to be believed, that guy is Tokuro Fujiwara and he currently works for Platinum Games.
Yeah, Tomba! hit PSN in the US last month. Tomba! 2 should be on PSN in September, if patterns are to be followed (Tomba! hit PSN in June 2011 in Japan, June 2012 in US, and Tomba! 2 hit PSN in September 2011). It's a toughie as to who owns the IP right now. It may have just fallen into disarray and NOBODY actually owns it right now or something.
Damm it sucks living in Europe, also its a depressing thought that 3 of the best exclusive platformer franchises of the ps1 days arent even owned under Sony anymore Ape Escape is pretty much the only one
It is a shame, Sony needs to try to buy someof these classic IP's
I think first they have to start making money again. They've only lost money ever since the PS3's launch. I'd rather they make some money back first before they go about buying franchises they may only use for the PSAS franchise.
The first one is on the psn store
This guy needs to be in, never played his games but from the review scores and fanbase acclaim he seems to be awesome. I would check out the first 2 if they werent now expensive collectors items they should release them on PSN store
Don't know who Tomba is, but I feel the same way with Scaler (Scaler), Malice (Malice), and Prana Devil (The Unholy War), they were great games but never got any recognition. The more the merrier is what I say
This bad a-- guy Never had the game, but I played the s--- out off the demo
