Super Repeats?

11 replies 262 views Edited May 17, 2013
It almost seems like some of the supers are just other supers with a different art style. I mean, come on, you have to admit that PaRappa's and Sackboy's level 1 are the same exact thing. Except for the explosion afterwards, Kat, Toro, and Fat Princess also share the same level 1. Heihachi and Zeus also seem to have incredibly similar level 1s. Anybody else notice this before? Do you like it like this or would you have preferred a more various set of supers?

Sir Dan level 2 is unique because the orbs do all the work but is very easy to dodge.

Well they look kinda similar in effect, but in concept every super is varied. You can argue that Big Daddy's level 2 is the same as Fat Princess', but BD gets mad crazy with his bees and FP rides a chicken.

It's how they look that matters. A super can be the same as the other, but it wouldn't be that much of a deal if those supers actually represent something from each character's game.

But I kinda agree, they could've been much more creative; especially with Raiden or Emmett Smiley Tongue

Kat's is actually a lot different than Fat P and Toro. She can only get one guy with it, and then that person explodes, which can kill more people.

Highly varied supers leaves a lot of room for unbalanced supers.

I don't see the problem with a few supers being similar. Otherwise, some characters would forfeit theirs not because it didn't work, but because someone beat them to it. Sackboy's and Parappa's  seem to easily adjust to their combos, for instance. And, as said before, Kat's works different.

Cole's lvl 1 is a TINY bit similar to Evil Cole's lvl 1.

PaRappa and Sackboy don't have the same level 1. PaRappa has a boss status level 1 that shoots bolts upwards and works great as an anti-air. Sackboy can only kill those who he hits with his body.
