I main Spike (currently level 813) and I'm not into kill confirms. They're kind of cheap so I don't use them. The only way I know to execute his L1 is to wait until the other character is hit by somebody else above you, then catch them while they're in the air. Of course, you could go behind somebody who is attacking somebody else and catch 'em. Many people don't consider Spike a threat so it's extremely rewarding to walk up to the other three while they're fighting and catch them all at once. <3
Spike's L2 is too predictable. If they removed the small cutscene before he used it, it'd be much more effective. Plus, you need to be extremely close to your enemy to use it because they can see it coming a mile away because it's so slow. Perhaps make it the speed of Cole's LVL2?
I really do wish that Spike's L3 wasn't screen-clearing. His other supers can be quite difficult to utilize. Maybe he could have called in one of the Freaky Monkey Five or Specter to fight with him like Heihachi and the bear?
How do you handle Spike in a 1v1 scenario? Say it's a stock match and it's down to you and one other person. You each have one stock left. Without relying on his Air Down Triangle setup since you don't use kill confirms (much respect to you; I use it only with Spike since I don't have any luck with his Level 1 otherwise T-T), how do you go about landing that final blow?
Hmmm yeah i do find him extremely rewarding and i wasnt really meaning i wanted to use kill confirms or like them i was meaning something more like sir dans combo to first that if the player is not paying attention then he gets nabbed i have tried all the aforementioned combos but they dont work atall for me no matter how quick i do it =\ but yeah hes fun his terrible supers make it all the more rewarding
killed a raiden who was using his 2nd super with spikes 1st haha the amount of people that seem to not know that it is possible is rediculous
I land his confirms into his LVL1 and his LVL2 regularly.
The jump in down+triangle is by far his most reliable confirm, and it's really not bad as long as you keep them frustrated with Naners.
Ginta also showed me a video of a spike loop found here:
Sadly I don't play Spike so I can't really offer more than that.
