Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
That's not the logic. You don't seem to understand a single bit of it. A situation where it does not recognize you activating it is not the same as one where you activate and then get hit (or do I need to spell that out too?).
Let me spell it out again. The only way the game could have thought you activated it was because you pressed the button. You pressed it and got hit? That's called canceling. It just happened soon enough after for the animation and music not to go off.
