His combos are near impossible to land and once he's stuck in a combo there's no way out. Plus his Level 2&3 Supers are pretty easy to evade if you know what you're doing...I think he needs a small amount of tweaking in order to compete in Free-for-all play..

I strongly disagree. Strongly.
It's easy to get in the middle of the action, scoop up some players with his Up-Square attack and then use his level 1 or 2. He's only too slow if you don't play him right. I won a Free For All match with Sir Dan against 2 Raidens and 1 Dante.

Only played a few matches with him before release and I thought his hammer move was frustratingly slow both in execution and recovery - it may have changed since then though. Besides that, I don't think he was 'ridiculously' slow, though I did feel I had to rely on his charge too often to get back into the action..
Again, those observations are only based on a few matches though.
Would like to hear what others think.

Try to use his hammer when grounded. It comes out much quicker than his air hammer.

I haven't gotten much of a chance to use him in free for all, but I disagree. He's my best character right now.
