But if Sackboy only copied people, why would you play as him? I mean, even Kirby had his own move set.

I never really liked the characters i'm about to mention but it may be appropriate for sackboy. If you ever played Tekken you may know Mokujin a character made out of would who randomly use another fighters style, or Charrade from Soulcalibur series. Again, i never really liked these characters but it could make sense on sackboy
