Re: Pasta Stadium Leagues: Sign Ups "Closed" And Other Updates

I think if you REALLY want to do round robin pools, you have to cut the numbers by half or something, just because 18 people is too many.  There's a valid argument against brackets but IMO it's the most efficient anyway.

It is rather efficient, I agree. Let's see if I can manage the numbers down a bit, that is rather possible.

Once we are all classified in our types of pasta, is there a way to move up/down to the other leagues?

And is only this "qualifying" round bracket, or is the whole thing bracket?

Once you are pastafied, you can move up and down the leagues; I woul never be so cruel as to not let players who have advanced in their skills try to make their way up the ladder.

The top 8 of the Alfredo and the bottom 8 of the Marinara compete in a double elimination bracket to try and either move into the next leagues, or stay in their own. Same for the Pesto and Alfredo.

The Bolognese league is just a qualifying bracket. I had no way to seed people for the actual league and needed one, so I created the Bolognese League.

Did I make sense? (I have been told I am a tad confusing at times.)

Yes, but will the skill-classified leagues be double round robin or bracket?

I'm going to stick with the double round robin for now, and just make the numbers a bit smaller for the groups so it can go faster. It seems like the best way to go. So if you do well in your groups, you will go far. You will also have more than two games in a bracket to show your skill. I just like it better that way.

The bracket will only come into play for the Pasta Bowl (like most major sports tournaments, except I'll be using double elimination) and the qualifiers to move from one league to another.

For now, 1v1. Though I am seriously hoping to arrange a 2v2 league after this one is started. There just hasn't been enough interest to do it quite yet.
