Remember back before release....

32 replies 292 views Edited Nov 29, 2012

Remember when everyone thought this was going to be the best brawler ever?

Remember when everyone thought this game was going to topple Smash Bros?

Remember how balanced we thought this game was going to be? (looking at you Raiden, Sackboy and Kratos)

Remember how we thought the roster was going to be huge?

Remember when we thought this game's online was going to be fun forever?

Those were good times.

I'm not trying to troll or hate, this is a decent game, but it has a bit too many flaws. I'll play online from time to time, but it'll never replace Smash Bros for me. That's just my opinion, you all have yours. Let's keep this discussion civilized, shall we gentlemen?

It beats the hell out of Brawl's online, which is the thing I care about the most by far.

Well yeah, Brawl was on the Wii...which has the worst possible online. Brawl wins in every other categorie though.

And c'mon, before this game came out everyone on here was saying it was going to beat Smash.

Not really they were saying it may succeed and become a hit series like Smash. Though its not really fair to compare the two since they are different.

They are very different I agree. But Smash was way more polished and had more features. I feel like alot more effort went into Brawl.

Personally, get all pissy if you want. I believe you possibly suck online and instead of trying to better yourself you slam the game too make yourself fell better...

Stage scarring with Wolf for the win! I miss Brawl. With improved online connectivity, I think Brawl would still beat out this game, but that's because it offers such diverse play compared to All-Stars. Still, this game is very fun since you're constantly being thrown into unique 2v2 and FFA matches that are pretty stable.

But the game lacks the sheer number of situations that Brawl does. Falling off a stage doesn't lose you points, you can't be hit too high up or too far to the side so that it kills you. Skill alone won't get you a win if you don't use your Supers. And the weapons and stage hazards in ranked matches!

This game is not Brawl. It might be close in a couple iterations. But it's a different game and it's a great change of pace, at least to hold out until the next Smash Bros.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.
