Ratchet and Clank Users Discussion Thread

24 replies 343 views Edited Nov 22, 2012

Ok here's my Ratchet Gameplan.

Anytime I have enough room I charge up the Sonic Eruptor (Neutral Triangle) and I let it out whenever anyone gets in range, thats the easiest way to keep people off me and give me some space. Its brilliant at hitting multiple enemies too. Thats [probably my most used attack.

If I dont have enough room I mash forward triangle and that gets people off me too.

Also, when ever I get the opportunity I go for this combo:

Neutral Triangle(tap)+Side Square+Side Square+Up Square +Up Triangle

Its pretty easy for me to pull off, the hardest part is getting the first shot down honestly and the after that its all smooth sailing. It nets a good 140 AP

I think Mr. Zurkon is only good for taunting and his Testla Spikes seem like they'd be useful but I cant find an effective way to use them. Also hid down triangle is completely useless for me.

Has anyone figured out a way to combo into his level 1?

His level 1 has such great range(it's already one of the best), that making it combo-able would just ruin the game. He'd most definitely be the new Meta Knight, and everyone would rage as soon as they see Rachet.

His telsa spikes are good for you going to one side and make yourself a shield to hide behind, also his neutral circle plasma striker is really good has nice distance and is aim able, Mr. Zurkon I try to have him out because its Mr. Zurkon, also his agents of doom are good for setups, and yeah a combo into his level 1 would be to much it's already one of the best in the game.

Lol I managed to create an insta-level 1 combo with Ratchet that nets you 150 AP I believe but it's quite hard to pull off. And the easiest way to nail that combo you stated is walking into your opponent and tapping neutral triangle RIGHT when you let go off the directional pad/analog stick. Use the tesla spikes, they're extremely helpful, and when they're stunned, you can charge up the sonic Eruptor to dispose of them if they continue forward. Take it from a guy who secondary mains ratchet and is ranked in the top 50 on the leaderboards. His level 1 is all about patience, you basically need to know what your opponent's next move will be because of that small charge up before it fires. And honestly his level 2 and 3 should be buffed a tad. The hit box on his level 3 isn't good and it can be hard to hit someone unlike Radec's level 3 (whom I main). In my opinion, clank should be faster movement wise cause I can never catch anyone, even with the time bombs, but maybe that's just me being a little picky and just not good with it haha

Any time you're on Sandover, throw some Tesla Spikes at the bridge, especially if somebody's in the water. It forces the enemy to stay down there and/or give you some free AP.

His level 3 needs work it's awful, I'm fine with his level 2 try to do it when people are close and fire out the time bubbles quick then go in and kill.

Remember that every character has a good, great, and bad Super. Ratchet's bad Super is his lvl3. Even then, it's not all that bad for FFA.

I agree that Ratchet's Lv. 3 is his worst Super. I usually just rely on his Lv. 1 and Lv. 2. Less waiting and bigger payoff

I take back what I said about his level 2 clank is really slow and the time bubbles seem useless it does not keep them in place long enough to help you.
