Rage quitting - Solution idea

3 replies 121 views Edited Feb 2, 2013

Too much rage quitting happens in this game. In some games (Can't remember any names haha) there's a stat which tracks rage quits. Basically it shows % of matches quit manually.

So would it be good if in this game at the match loading screen with people and their characters, icons, backgrounds and belts + titles there would be one more thing. Either % of how many games the user has finished from start to end or simply numbers (For example 147/185 matches completed).

I know this wouldn't be fair for people who disconnect due to connection and has nothing to do with it but still, it wouldn't be called RAGE QUIT STAT but rather just show how many games the player has completed from started matches. Then rage quitting/connection lost wouldn't come as a nasty surprise because you saw that one player has only finished 40% of the matches so you can expect him to leave somehow.

Just an idea, any thoughts?

While this is an idea what would this do? There is a penalty for disconnecting manually or otherwise so even if you do see them you can't quit either because you will suffer a penalty.

If there was indicator (The stat could be under character level in match loading screen) of how many matches the player has finished from start to end some people might not rage quit that much. It would also be a slight heads up for other players because they would be expecting rage quit and it wouldn't come as surprise everytime. I don't like the idea of loosing belt points if disconnected because some disconnections happen without the player affecting it.

In toy soldiers on steam or XBLA all the matches are 1v1 and if somebody ragequits then the other player gets the win it's saves on his stats and everything
