Another problem I have with this is Raiden being on the cover. I have no idea what they're hoping for by putting him there--unless it was part of the contract to get him as a fighter they'd put him on the cover--but he has no selling power compared to some of the characters on the roster who do. Seriously should have gone with Cole McGrath.
Nothing against inFamous, but with MGS2 selling over 7 million, and MGS4 selling more than 5 Million, I'd say that Raiden is much more popular and recognizable than Cole is.
However, nobody was getting either of those games for Raiden (many people were displeased with the character's role in MGS2 anyway)--Snake was the main draw.
Plus, for a series that is much younger than MGS, Infamous' sales aren't bad either: 2.25 Million (not including the millions that were sent out for free after the PSN outtage in 2011) for InFamous and 1.3 Million for InFamous2 is nothing to sneeze at in the slightest for a newer, **exlcusive** IP.
Especially considering Sony doesn't advertise.
Lets be completely honest guys, the box art sucks. I'm okay with having characters on the front cover but character choice sucks.
To start, get big daddy and raiden off the screen, its **bleep** embarrassing.
Second, they need to put put more recognizable classic characters on the cover. Like jak and daxter, wanderer and crash(if the game even does have those characters)
Kratos's position needs to be moved, he should not be the focal point of the cover.
If I was in charge of making the cover, i would line the characters up kinda like this.
top-sackboy, crash, sly,
middle- rachet and clank, (title) jak and daxter
bottom kratos, nathan drake, kat, spike, parappa
And they need to use different character art, not same art from the homepage. The cover should show art of them loking like their ready to attack someone.
I like Big Daddy on the front cover. Not just because he's from one of my favorite games--but because he's easily amongst the most widely known characters in the game and will draw in attention from gamers all over the spectrum, regardless of their choice console/platform.
