Re: Not all Slys are bad...

A smart player techs down, not up and air dodge. Standard air recovery into air dodge doesn't work nearly as well as recovering down.

And that being said, all hit confirms only really work against a ground opponent, no? Still doesn't remove the edge from Sly. And like I said, Triangle and Side Circle still confirm a level 1.

@Dude5059 Yes but they are no where near as practicle as many other attacks in the game and even Sly's counter is easily baited which leaves him open for a free combo punish, throw or super just as much as Dante or Raidens and for long range battles this is even more so since alot of slow projectiles make the use safe from Sly's counter unless at point blank range it's thrown (Sir Daniels Axe, Chicken wings and Skull hand, Fat Princess' mage and knight, Nathan drake and Radecs grenades, Ratchets ground droids etc).

Sly's counter is much faster and incredibly easy to use. He'll be able to land it eventually. And they may not seem practical in comparison to Raiden, but they're definitely doable. And if he can't land his level 1, his level 2 has twice as many confirms. And jumping after a slow projectile won't save them from him gaining some AP off of them, though it may not be a kill or steal.

I also learned that Sly has enough time to counter the arrow in Sir Dan's set-up if he so chooses. Thought that was neat.

Being invisible isn't a **bleep** move.

You can even see him pretty **bleep** easily when he's invisible.

You guys blind or what?

I really don't understand how people call Sly cheap, or even good for that matter. Well no, he is really good in 2v2, and maybe also in FFA (Don't really play that mode much), but in 1v1 he's pretty horrendous. A whiffed counter is so easy to punish, he's not hard at all to keep track of, and as annoying as the teleport might be, it doesn't really do much other than reset a situation assuming you're playing safe against him.
Honestly in 1v1 all you really need to do is bait counters out of him and react to whatever he does.

Sly is not that great in 1v1 where invisibility doesn't mean squat and once he reaches his level 1, if you take to playing a mid-range game with option to dodge roll back or play an air game, Sly isn't that effective.

In FFA... a different story altogether.
