Re: No love for Alucard? Dart and Wander should be in this game at all costs!

I personally beg to differ. I can agree that the 3D games may be sub-par, but I love Symphony of the Night, the portable DS titles, and the Lords of Shadow reboot.

I think RPG elements is what makes Symphony of the Night so awesome.

I actually hoped Lords of Shadow was going to have RPG elements and not just God of War/DMC type elements.

Legend of Dragoon took something like 3 years to develop + a team of over 100. On something like the PS3, what are we looking at? I think that may be why Sony hasn't committed again to another RPG internally of that scale. I'd imagine they'd have to expand the Japan Studio by a decent bit to get the project going.

Otherwise, there was this comment posted by Shu Yoshida on the PSBlog:

I still occasionally hear from fans of The Legend of Dragoon, and many want to know if there is a sequel. LOD2 was put into preproduction after I left the Japan Studio, but was eventually cancelled for some unknown reason, and the team members moved on to different projects. Some people still work in the Japan Studio, so we talk about the memories of developing LOD when we see each other at company functions.

It doesn't have to be for the PS3.

In fact, I think Legend of Dragoon 2 development would be much easier on the Vita. JRPGs thrive on handhelds these days.

Just think about a LoD game utilizing all the Vita features for flying, combo-ing, magic, etc.

Again, how does this prove your point?

How does Super Castlevania 4 represent the entire franchise in the slightest? And I still personally like Lords of Shadow. Let's jus agree to disagree, alright? I don't really feel like debating tonight.

So improving gameplay mechanics are a bad thing?

If improving controls means the game's easier, well the developers just might have to INNOVATE in order to make the game harder. Smiley Wink
