So I've got a thread about Dart's rival. This is important, because I've been wanting to write a story for Dart, but the rivalry cutscene is one of the most important parts.
Does anybody want to pitch in a good motivation for Dart joining Battle Royale? It honestly doesn't seem like something he'd do.
Alright, here's another one: Stages and Items. We want LoD to get the full treatment of an acknowledged franchise in PSAS.
Here's some thoughts
Helena Prison (top): The battlefield where you defeat Fruegel for the final time, and where Lavitz met his end. Maybe Guftas, and Rodriguez could periodically attack the players, or Fruegel could throw boulders at you.
Home of Gigantos (inner chamber): The ground where you fight Gehrich and Mappi, and where Kongol saves you. The most obvious hazard would be Mappi bringing the giant statue down upon the players.
The Mountain of Mortal Dragon: The grounds for the epic battle against the Divine Dragon. Not much needs to be said really; the place is covered in dragons and lava pits. Hazards shouldn't be hard to come up with.
The Moon that Never Sets: I think we all know the proper hazard for this battle: Melbu Frahma transforms the battle field several times while attacking the players.
Not sure who should be invading these stages, but I know I'd love to see a stage get invaded by the Divine Dragon blowing stuff up.
For items, I want the Dark Mist or Black Rain, because they look cool and wouldn't be too overpowered. Maybe the Spark Net too.
I like the Moon. Or how about Hoax (vs. Kongol 1/Sandora Elite)
So the Sandora Elite would multiply and attack the players?
Maybe near the end, after they get invaded by some other franchise, Rose shows up from the sky and fights the invader.
You could do that, I was mainly just saying what battles it's from.
In that case, it might be hard to distinguish it from any medieval fort without Kongol or Rose.
But it was one of the few areas that a CG cutscene took place in, so it has value.
I'm kind of realizing that the Moon that never sets is pretty trippy/colorful. It would probably take attention away from the invading stage. Also, it would be hard to do that battle justice without all the transformations, but chances are that most of them would morph the arena so much that it would become hard to fight on.
I think my favorite is the Mountain of Mortal Dragon, because there'd be a chance to show off the Divine Dragon tearing into whoever tries to invade the place. Seeing that taking place in the background alone would be worth it.
i got bored so i made this picture. lol
I like it.
And so we have the first known character model for Dart's planned inclusion from Mike Edwards (one of the game's model artists):
Definitely in line with the game's art-style, though I was hoping for something higher-res or with more detail. I find the shading approach incredibly strange, and the tweaks they gave the armor design are a little off-putting.
