Moves that don't kill...

10 replies 263 views Edited Oct 9, 2012

Are we ok with this? I mean honestly whats that point of so many moves if all they do is build up meter? Why not just one smash button? Lets say you used your special with 20 seconds remaining and killed everyone and your still down by 1 kill from winning the game. What else can you do? Whats the point in smashing all those cool powerful looking moves when they will essentially do nothing?

Am I missing somthing here? I believe this game is still in beta but can somthing like that still be changed?

If you're hitting someone, it means they are not hitting you and they cannot kill you.

We've all been OK with it. That's what makes this game different from certain other fighting games... It adds a bit more suspense since the more you get hit raises the chances that your opponent will land a super on you kindof like a reverse health system  you should research this game a little more...

People didn't like Smash Bros kill system when it was first concieved. Now look at it.

If you want health bars, why not just play a traditional fighting game? This game wants to try something new.

Have you played the game? No.

Give me 20 seconds and I'll even build up a level 2 with those "fancy" moves and take out more than just you, but the other 2 guys as well, winning by 5 points instead of just 1 :smileyhappy:

It reminds me of another fighting game I love, Dissidia. They had a similar system where one set of attacks could never kill someone. You had to build a meter and then unleash your more powerful attacks to kill people.

The beta was a blast and the game plays better than it sounds. Just wait till you get your hands on it!

Similar systems have worked in games before it, and will in games after it. I don't see the problem.
