My roomates were all excited to unlock their favorite character's costumes, but it won't let "player 2" use costumes. I find it disconcerting that I can change the bots' costumes, but my friends can't change their character's costume. Are we missing something?

You can change your costumes, i do it all the time with my bro...

What do you mean...? All you do is press "down" on the character select screen once you've chosen your character... My friends and sister use the alternate costumes all the time

You need to unlock the costumes.

Is this something that may have been patched? Because in local multiplayer, player 2 can't use costumes.

Player 2 can use costumes in local multiplayer though...  I just did it yesterday.

Plus, there hasn't been a patch in a month

I recommend just trying again.  Maybe you're just doing something wrong somehow?

Well, my PS3 isn't online, so I've gotten no patches...

But I got excited when when all the replies told me Player 2 could use costumes, I ran into the other room, booted it up, told my roomates that the internet said player 2 could use alts, and then sighed, as I still could not get Fat Princess in her Alt. costume for player 2. I can change costumes, I can change the costumes for the bots, I know I've got them unlocked, but I can't change costumes on player 2. I must be missing something, but after choosing the character, player 2 cannot got up or down, but can still change colors...
