Also, I'm pretty sure you'd be angry all the time if you had to be CONSTANTLY reminded of the worst mistake you've made in your entire life.

And have people fear you ALL the time. Just look at Pandora, she didn't fear him and he grew attached to her. "It is good you are not afraid child, fear is a heavy burden" He even didn't want her to destroy the flame to get Pandora's box at the end, he stops her until Zeus decides to open his mouth. I think his character is actually deeper than alot of others,it's just hidden by all the anger and violence in the games.

Kratos is one of the best video game charcters. He might not be a deep one, but he's so badass that you can look past it.

I always liked Kratos, but I suspect he wouldn't like me much.... because I'm alive

People really need to play the games, his Mother was murdered by his lying father right in front of him, they murdered his only loved one left (brother) put his families Ashes on him after tricking him to kill them. They've plotted against him on many occasions, he even sacrificed a second chance with his family to save man, also commited suicide to give man freedom...and he's unlikeable?

Yes. It doesn't matter what the origins of his personality are. Going to his background is more like "Oh, he's an a-hole but it's explained so I'm going to say he's likable." You're sympathetic towards the character because his past is explained. It's his current personality that's in question. Even with a horrible past, they could've made him seem like a cool guy that'd you want to hang around with, like Dexter. Traumatic past but he managed to give off a charming personality.

If Santa Monica Studios wasn't partially behind the game, I swear it would be a little different. Kratos is their pride and joy if you will. I find him annoying (especially with the square button mashing) but he has his weakenesses. I do a ton of blocking and I usually use sweet tooth so I drop mines everywhere. Anytime Kratos does a running move just roll or jump behind him and destroy him.

They weren't going for that kind of character. They did a fine job with his character

Let's have all the characters that have a horrible past be cool guys! Smiley Very Happy No, they took a gamble, made a character different from so many before him and it turned out great
