Don't get me wrong. I was honestly blown away by this game's originality and performance as soon as I started getting my *ss kicked in the BETA. However, as I delved deeper into the games mechanics, I found myself slightly disappointed with the lack of grace and finesse. I hate to bring up the big 'N', but we all know that PSASBR will be compared to SSB more than anything else. That said, I noticed how you cannot simply run by an object to grab it off the ground in one fluid motion or snatch an object out of the air as you jump by. Your feet have to be planted on the ground before you can interact with any objects. Another thing is how a few of the moves seem like they're re-skinned and remapped on the controller for different characters. One easy example is the parallels between Radec and Sweet Tooth. The electric grenades Radec throws are just like Sweet Tooth's molotov cocktails. Also, Radec's flamethrower is an awful lot like Sweet Tooth's fire-breath. These moves are simply re-mapped on the controller. I know it's not like SSB isn't guilty of similar moves being re-skinned, but there is a sense of consistency with the mapping. I have a general clue of what sort of attack each button will yield for the characters on SSB before I actually begin to try that character out. The easiest example here would be Up+B -- the iconic 'third jump'. Obviously, I'm not asking for a third jump or anything really that makes the game more like SSB per se; I just ask for maybe a bit of a clearer difference between the effects of two different attacks that look the same, but are mapped differently (damage dealt, recovery time, etc.) Forgive my if these grievances do not reflect the final product; their simply little tid-bits that caught my attention.

I guess it's just a big cracker box, then...
