Is this game too violent?

9 replies 359 views Edited Feb 12, 2013

To include the likes of crash and spyro?
Skylanders is very much aimed at an audience of kids maybe 8-12
And perhaps theyre saving crash for similar treatment?

Sackboy is way more kid friendly than Crash and Spyro and it's in here. The only significantly violent thing in this game is Kratos using Helios's head was a weapon.

Considering that 8-12 year-olds are playing Call of Duty nowadays, no.

This game has Fat Princess, Sackboy, and Spike. No, it's not too violent.

^I'm guessing you haven't played Fat Princess. They censored her a lot in this game.

This thought certainly crossed my mind, but I think they'd fall under the same situation as Parappa. Look how much of a success Parappa turned out to be!

I'm gonna say "Prepare to bleed" "Death to you" and "Hell awaits you" Might be a little much, but it's fine

Littlebigplanet is not aimed at kids. Maybe Sackboy looks kid friendly and the storyline is on the innocent side but that's about it. It's whole point of existence, the creation tools and sharing levels is made for a more mature mind. You won't see a kid making awesome levels and games you see in LittleBigPlanet.

@LineRA1N; Agreed. Isn't a sad state of affairs when most of the games kids play are the ones meant for adults? No wonder this generation is so f u c k e d up.

I actually think it's less to do with violence, and more to do with brand confusion. Spyro/Skylanders is aimed at a completely different demographic then All Stars. We're talking about little kids who love to collect toys, and parents who humour them with the purchases. The buisness model has worked wonders for them, they've made half a billion dollars or so over the franchise in 2012 alone, meaning Skylanders is now one of Activisions biggest franchises, along with Call of Duty & World of Warcraft.
