Up to three shots for 10 AP each if the player holds down the input.
If you get hit by all three shots you're knocked back with invincibility. It's probably his most reliable and safest move at the moment in regards to his current AP gain, expect to see it used a lot when facing Jak.

see thats what i thought (i play as jak) but at my friends house i used him and for some reason i could shoot 7 times

It's possible to only shoot twice by not holding the input down as long, then using the the move again with a smaller delay than you would have if you fired all three, this doesn't cause the knockback that the third shot brings, but it's possible to for your opponent to block the following shots if they're slamming the block button due to the smaller delay.
Did your shots go more in the pattern of 1-2...1-2...1-2-3?
