I'm playing him because he plays like Radec. The game isn't solely based on representing a franchise you love, it's also treated like a regular fighting game. I main Radec, never played Killzone, I love his moveset. At the same time I main Ratchet, I've played every game of his AND he has a moveset I prefer. It's preference. I love Dante/Devil May Cry but I can't play him in this game. I don't have Gravity Rush or Starhawk but I'm trying them out and ain't nobody gonna stop me 
Now in terms of a character being OP, that's different. I'd rather face a Kratos player who LOVES God of War than someone who doesn't play the series and only picks him because he's OP. I got lucky that my favorite characters aren't OP (Ratchet for example). I watched an entire walk through of Gravity Rush (don't have a Vita), and I've wanted Kat in this game for a while. Though I don't consider myself as entitled as those who actually played GR, I love her character and will main her even if she's considered OP, I just won't use cheap tactics.
