So the situation at the moment seems to have divided fans into two groups. 

The Paul Galians vs. The Sid Shumans 

i.e.. The Optimists vs. The 'Realists' 

I know it sucks, as a huge fan of Sony and PSABR - my heart sank a little when all gaming websites started blowing up the tweet and was just as outraged as the hundreds of people promising to burn SuperBot to the ground. To you all, I say please calm down, stop the fighting and the petty arguments. I am not taking anyone's side, I am both an optimist and a realist, and as you all should be too. At this moment in time our arguments will do nothing but infuriate us. All we can do is wait for SuperBot entertainments next official announcement and then accept whatever the reality of the matter as mature gamers. 

At the end of the day, this is SuperBot's game, not Paul Gales, nor Sid Shumans. There is obviously announcements to come (few more beta leaked stages still not shown, no game/story modes details shared, details on possible rivalries, equipment and NPC characters). Everything will be cleared up eventually, until then please take a break and stop the madness.

I agree I don't know who to believe. I have always gone to Gale for hints and info but this guy who actually works for Playstation drops a bomb on us and now I suddenly don't know who to believe.

I am on the same boat as you all, believe me, but no good will come of the arguments, the hate and all the nitpicking and dissecting people seem to be doing of every little thing. We all need to be patient, Superbot Entertainment will have to make a statement eventually, and until they do, all else is painstaking speculation. Like I noted in my orginal post, we're mature gamers and we have to act it.

Then there are the Contentists. Aka, the people who are already happy with the game. In other words, content with the game.

Like me, I myself have played with all 20 characters and left Eurogamer very happy with the roster. And I'm sure there are others like me who are happy with the roster.
