Keep in mind that Dead or Alive 5 is out on Tuesday, and is a pretty big franchise in Japan.

If Ryu Hayabusa is in this game, as some rumors would have us believe, than he is yet another cross-promoted 3rd party character that will be benefitting from the extra hype generated for Tecmo's game. DOA5 is also being heavily promoted at TGS. Just something to consider.

I was about to say take that to a DOA forum, but since you want a character from the series in All Stars. It's fine, but I suggest changing the title.

I didn't explain myself as well as I should've (plus I'm posting on mobile) but I was basically announcing this to allude to the theory that we may very well hear of a DOA character announcement for PASBR, if you weigh in the old website leak, some of Paul's hints, and the fact that the 3rd party chars are all representative of new or upcoming titles.

I honestly don't want Ryu in over most of the other contenders, but he's better than nothing.

I'm buying DOA5 and it's probably gonna keep me busy while I wait for this CODBO2, and Persona 4 Golden. I don't know if Ryu is is in though. If you use the it's to late to add him thesis then they shouldn't have added Heihaichi because his game came out about 2 months after he was released. 

Btw I just have to add this. It's pretty sad when people give reasons for a person being in the game as "their game is coming out so it'll be good advertisement." I really wish they wouldn't have added Raiden and Dante because that's literally the only reason people are suggesting characters now. Whatever happened to "this character should be in because he literally made the PS2 era," or something. I'm just saying that this game became very low if people have to say that to suggest characters now.

Agreed, but it's hard to divert from that way of thinking now that new Dante and Raiden are in. You could make a case for Hayabusa because the original DOA was on PS1, but most of the rest of the speculation comes from that website build. Clock deconfirmed Jin and Kazuya, but since Ryu was never deconfirmed, people are still heavily speculating on it.

This promotion argument is flaud because all crossover gam,e promote certain characters I mean look at UMVC3 most of those characters where in cause of their movies or comics coming out.

Wouldn't it make sense for them to have revealed Ryu MUCH earlier? He's a character that'd be in partially to advertise his series, so why would they wait until two or three days before a game's launch to reveal a character from it? I don't see the logic in that.

They also announced a new Ninja Gaiden Sigma game, I wouldn't mind having Ryu in this game, just not before Cloud, Snake etc are in.

Yeah, they just announced a new Ninja Gaiden spinoff that they are banking on being really good because Keiji Inafune of Mega Man fame is working on it.

Ehhh...I dont know what to think about Ryu Hayabusa. I don't have any problem with him, but he's just not all that interesting to me. NG 1 and 2 were good games mechanically, but I don't think too many people were ever that partial to Ryu. It pains me to say but I think I'd rather go with Lightning at this point.
