How exactly will DLC work with other users? When I bought some kicka$$ costumes off the PSN store for Dissidia 012, I found out that no one else could see them unless they had the DLC as well. Is the PS3 different to the PSP in terms of DLC? If, hypothetically, Crash was DLC and I bought him, will only other players who bought Crash be able to play with/against him?

I'll imagine each character/ stage release will come with a compatibility patch like in Mortal Kombat that allows people online to freely play against those characters and on those stages with no problem and not having to download them themselves. Seems like the smartest way to go for me.

With fighting games it doesn't matter, all that is unlocked is your ability to play that character. Everyone else can play against you if you have it regardless of whether they've downloaded it or not.
