Because no one brought her up in interviews? Crash was really all most people brought up with a Superbot rep (mostly Omar), so I guess she's sort of stayed under the radar. Being a third party character that originated from a game that expanded a novel probably doesn't help either. That's a lot of people to talk to.
Regardless, while I've never played the series myself, Aya does have her place in PlayStation's history and could be a good participant in the game.
