Attraction makes me want a revival of these old franchises

13 replies 298 views Edited Nov 12, 2012

stuff like Ape Escape, PaRappa, Medieval and not to mention the long demanded Heavenly Sword sequel

but I can only see a studio like Sony Santa Monica or Naughty Dog doing these IPs justice

those guys are juggernauts in the gaming industry and they almost never falter (If at all)

you can always expect them to deliver quality products

(just my 2 cents)

Medieval was amazing! Heavenly Sword- Never played it. Ape Escape- Played it once at friend's house and enjoyed it a bit.

Ape Escape was great. It was revolutionary too, as it was the first Playstation title of its kind to use true dual analogue controls.

I wrote an article that's very applicable to this subject, some of you might enjoy it: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2012/10/15/will-battle-royale-bring-unity-to-the-playstation-uni...

I'm thinking PaRappa will get a PSN rhythm game at some point, Sir Dan could easily get a reboot; maybe a PSV/PS3 cross-buy/play/etc PSN/retail on Vita title? Something similar to the upcoming Ratchet game.

I have a hard time seeing Heavenly Sword getting a reboot in the near future. The first one wasn't particularly successful, and since Heavenly Sword occupies the same genre as the hugely successful God of War, any developer who's willing to do that type of game, mine as well work on a PSV God of War in Sony's eyes. But if Nariko's in All-Stars sequel, then a reboot is inevitable down the line.
