But seriously, Wesker is the better choice. His teleporting could be an interesting playstyle. He has super strength so his supers could actually be interesting. Rather than Ada using a grappling hook or a gun.

Ada is definitely a better written character than Albert.  After RE1 Albert becomes extremely one dimensional.
