you could just change the colors a little. (Yes, I'm aware thats a simple change, and it is in SSB)

They already have that and that is why I am suggesting other skins. Multiple skins would benefit a lot better than just different colors and make it different that SSB.

It may make it differ but it would also increase the volume of the game. Imagine having to programme different skins for every character. Thats why fighting games tend to just change the characters clothes and keep the base model. Cole from InFamous basically has 2 skins. Blue (good) and Red (Evil). That Sweet Tooth skin looks pretty cool and it uses basically the same Sweet Tooth skeleton, just changing the visual. Nice find.

Infamous has 5 skins including good, evil, vampire, Kessler, and Reaper. The majority of skins I suggested were essentially just a change in clothes/hair and have the some body structure, with the exception of the skins that are almost completely different that the entire character and doesn't exactly have the exact body structure (like Rayman and Globox or Sweet Tooth as Dollface). I would understand that those would be harder and have a lower chance of being put in.

I have to take narwhals side on this because changing just the clothes would be too much like SSB and making alternate skins=bragging rights

I don't think color changes would be unlockables, I think they'll just kinda happen if two people have the same character and skin.

Well like I said, a lot of the costumes could also be just a change in clothes as well. Like for Kratos he could be wearing different armor. Skins could make a character look completely different as long as they have the same skeletal structure. If they what you are trying to skin doesn't have the same skeletal structure, than it wouldn't work out so much and animation would be really weird.

I'll use a mod in SSB to try to show a little what I mean, remember that this is a mod done by a fan so the characters are not from nintendo and none of them are official. I am not trying to compare this game to SSB, I am just trying to show you what skins and costumes have the potential to do.
