I really can't think of one game this generation that has been able to take advantage of the PS3's ability to recognize 7 players simultaneously but, I think this game would be perfect for something like that. More specifically, I think 6 player matches could work well.
There are a few stages that have been revealed so far that could no doubt support this kind of action, 1 being Dreamscape. 6 players might not work well for FFA but I think it would be great for 3V3 or 2V2V2. The addition of this mode would not only add more longevitiy, it would continue to set this game apart in uniqueness. I don't think there is any fighting game that has simultaneous 3V3, or 2V2V2, unless you count wrestling. This is probably something that can't be added to the game this late in development, but it definitely needs to make the sequel, or I would even welcome it for DLC.
An exclusively 3v3 sounds really intriguing if locked out to the bigger stages, maybe it can even have it's own larger stages just for that mode.
Yea just like in some FPS games where some maps are made specifically for a certain amount of players. I really think this could be a good addition to the game.
why would they not just go to 8 players though . great idea but it would be really caotic and i dont know if the system would be able to handle all that prossesing
Yea 8 player matches would be chaotic and they would require maps so big that you wouldn't be able to play multiplayer locally on those. I think with 6 players you could still have maps that are big enough and but you could still play with 5 other people in the same room.
Ehh....4 players is chaotic enough, plus the stages aren't big enough (imo) to accommodate 6 players. They're just right for 4 players.
Btw, the Madden and WWE games support 6 players...and the NBA games too, I think.
I forgot about the sports games... But Dreamscape can no doubt support 6 players and I think the matches would be a little less chaotic if you have team based gameplay.
