I may start posting "333's Words of Wisdom" threads, to help everyone out, in-game, if they need help, or are feeling discouraged! We all have the right to be happy and enjoy the game! So without further a-do, Here's my first "Words of Wisdom" thread; "333's Words of Wisdom for RANKED MATCHES" (Think of it like a "XXXXX for dummys")
Today, I'll be focusing on belt-rankings, and I'll try my best to lift your spirits - those of you who are discouraged!
If you see a friend, who DOES NOT spam, yet has a higher-level belt than you do, DON'T FRET!!
Provided you're as good as your pal, it's definitely circumstancial.
(Unless of course you spam, yourself haha! I doubt that though ;D )
-You're not fighting the same exact people (in the same order).
-You're not on the same stage(s) that your friend was on. (Like, GCole's level 3 isn't very good on stages where others can just hop into the water and warp to another section of the screen. - like Stowaways, for example.)
It's very circumstancial. It also depends on the player's character.
-GCole's level 1 can be avoided easier than most level ones - Whereas Raiden's isn't very avoidable, in comparison.
-GCole's level 2 can be good or bad depending on the stage in which it's used - Using this on stages with multiple, moving platforms (etc., just an example) will give this move a HUGE disadvantage.
GCole's level 3 is good (gets anywhere from 3-5 kills on normal-sized stages, with 5 kills being rare, as a player will probably still be recovering, and the vortex is slow.) - Look bad at the above example about "water warping" - His level 3 is one of the worst player-controlled ones in the game
And with (PaRappa - as an example)
-PaRappa's level 1 can sometimes hit players while standing on the same level - yet, it's still not the best level 1 super.
-His BOOMBOX generates AP; although lacking, it definitely boosts his AP count. Especially if alone while 2 Kratos are beating up on player 4...
-PaRappa's level 2 can EASILY get anywhere from 1-4 kills. (A bit cheap imo, should be shortened, as I can't dodge it online due to it being online mode. - Online mode of any game, despite the connection, will lag behind just a bit. - This super can make it easy for him to progress to further belts, as apposed to Cole's. Cole's level 3 is probably just as good, IF NOT WORSE, than PaRappas level TWO.
(Note: I'm not trying to single PaRappa nor Raiden players out, so please, excuse me if I've offended you; that was not my intent!)
So as you can see, it's very dependent on stages and characters. - And, of course, the user.
But as you can probably see, just because your friend was able to get a higher belt, doesn't mean it's just as easy for others (even if they're as good, or even better at the game, than you are.)
Just thought I'd post this. I hope it helps you out if you're struggling online during Ranked Matches!
Also, if you want to give me ideas for my next "Words of Wisdom" post, I'll gladly take it into consideration + give you credit at the end (or beginning ) of the thread
Most of what you posted common knowledge though. FFA is already super random and luck dependant.
New Post idea:
Losing an FFA ranked match does not make you a bad player. Ranked FFA is a bad indicator of actual skill and only rewards a certain skill set.
Pay attention to other peoples supers!! It peeves me off to be in a 2v2 and I can tell my enemy is going for a level 3 so I try to grab him and my partner is giving him free ap from burst combos. Oh, and try not to die, you... Dont.... Want to do..... That.
Parappas level 2 can't get more than 1 kill per person unless they prematurely end their spawn invincibility on purpose.
I'm sorry... No one said anything about this? Really?
"GCole's level 1 can be avoided easier than most level ones - Whereas Raiden's isn't very avoidable, in comparison."
I mean really? GCole's level one is easily avoidable? The character with possibly the most hit confirms in the game, rivaled only by Raiden, has trouble landing his super? Huh.... The more you know. Even my roommate who barely plays this game and has mostly just watched my matches laughed at that statement.
Also for "words of wisdom", all I see is a lack of advice, a disgusting amount of false information and a message that is essentially boiling down to "Don't worry if someone else is better than you, they probably aren't." from someone who constantly posts threads complaining about everything.
I'm sorry for being a bit harsh, but you're coming off as an expert but then spewing wrong information. Wrong information gets read, passed on, and soon everyone is calling out for unwarranted nerfs/buffs based on something that's completely wrong in the first place, not to mention no one improves from it.
Don't be an **bleep** and say, "Ha! Thats a laughable statement! My roomate who never plays the game..." etc.
Get off the thread if you're gonna be an immature jerk and criticize, okay?
Geez. You're immaturity astounds me.
