I think those blue squares are blocked characters and not two randoms because first of all, All fighting games have just one random and they have more than 20 characters so it have no sense putting two randoms just for 20 characters right? second, Some people tell its for people hwo is nearby to the left one or the right one but, isnt easier to press R1 (for example) and it makes random? Please comment your opinion

I can confirm that those question marks are RANDOM select buttons.
Placed in both sides for convenience.

If it is random, they could of made a button for it. Like just press select. That would be easier.

Then what if somebody hasn't played the game before? How would they know that a button is the way to select random? That's why they have the random button as a mainstay in fighting games even when a button can do the same thing; if the UI isn't idiot-proof, then there's always a problem.
