new 500GB hardrive and now this?

Hi! Just having a weird problem, a purchased a new 500Gb 2.5" hardrive 5400rpm Seagate, I formatted it and installed it. everything works fine. But randomly when I start it, it says the correct "hard disk was not found, cannot start"  so I turn it off and switch the main power off and on then it works again? (I get everything back aswell) any solutions to this?

You said you formatted it, and then installed it. Did you format it first, and then install it in the PS3?

sorry for the late reply, I put it in the PS3 then it asked to format it of course...
