Imagine a return to the fat form factor, with all the capabilities it had at launch, but taking advantage of the evolution since then (45nm Cell and 40nm RSX), but with a new mobo arrangement that has an on board EE+GS bringing back PS2 capability. Might as well throw in an SACD capable BD-ROM. And FINALLY add a built in IR sensor.
CECHR00 (Japan), CECHR01 (US) and CECHR02/03/04 for AU, UK, EU, etc etc.
500GB 2.5" HDD, 4 front USB ports, 2 rear USB ports, card readers with the opening door, chrome trim, available in satin silver, ceramic white, and gloss black. Would consume the same 100/250W that a Slim does, but have a LOT more capability.
A truly premium Playstation 3 SKU. MSRP $499. $599 bundle including Move (1 x Eye, 1 x Motion controller, Sports Champions, and the demo disk). I dream that SCEI would be willing and able to come out with this....
I vote for that with my wallet too!
Would you be willing to pay $499 or $599?
If I didn't have one already, I'd definitely consider it.
That said, I wouldn't need 500GB of storage space (yet), and the fact that the ps3 uses a standard disk storage medium at least to me means that accepting a lower-capacity at first to save some money is perfectly fine, as long as I can easily upgrade later.
My CECHE01 80gb motorstorm bundle just died now after 6 ylod's. I need a new PS3 now. I'd love for them to make another fat system that's more reliable. Ceramic white is my favorite ps3 color. I'm not a fan of the new slim models. They look cheap to me. Well they were cheaper to make literally lol. I'm just not a fan of the matte charcoal black finish and new logo. It looks like a PS2 slim now. I miss the old "Spider-Man" font "PLAYSTATION 3" logo when you boot up games. I'm really considering buying a used b/c model but I know it will break down in the future. The new Xbox 360 slim consoles look a lot better than the current slim models.
Does the slim come in ceramic white?
