I'm getting sick of less and less shooters not including a Southpaw option. Vanquish is the last straw for me. I really want to play Vanquish, but it's too fast and intense for me to use a control scheme I'm not used to.
I'm willing to pay for a Southpaw controller, but I can't seem to find any.
(For those who don't understand what is meant by "a Southpaw controller", it means the analog sticks are switched. The Left analog sends signals as though it was the Right analog, and vice versa.)
Anyway, Microsoft hasn't done this and seem to be too full of themselves to cater to a minority. Strike first, Sony. Please make an official Southpaw controller. Preferably one that has a switch to toggle between Normal and Southpaw rather than being permantly Southpaw.

Sony doesn't want people getting carpel tunnel. Southpaw controllers put the analog out of your thumbs natural range of motion.

Doesn't most games have the option to reverse the control style. I know Bioshock did.

I'd buy one in an instant. To be honest, I'm conpletely used to playing games right-handed but I'd love to play games the more natural way (for me, anyway).
It's ridiculous how Sony, and most other companies, decide to completely disregard 10-15% of their entire consumer base. Mirroring the whole controller would be a good idea too so the d-pad swapped with the symbol buttons.

When did we all get so ME ME ME. Sony and others have no obligation to make anything. You could always design one yourself and sell it. People always think because something they want isn't available they are being ignored. It has been and always will be about profit margin not about what 10-15% of people might like.

10% may be leftys, but only about 1 percent of that 10% would buy one. . so that leaves like 28 people in the U.S that would get one.
my math may be off a bit![]()

?
The analogs would be in the same exact spot. What I am asking for is the same exact controller, but the Left stick sends the signals of the Right stick, and vice versa.

Nope. It's actually rare nowadays for shooters to have a Southpaw option. I know the 360 version of Bioshock did not. I never played the PS3 version though. Even the huge games like Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Dead Space lacked Southpaw options. Apparently even Battlefield doesn't have them, but I have not checked this for myself.
Call Of Duty (all), Killzone 2, and MAG are the only PS3 games I'm aware of that have a Southpaw option.

They should probably do that to. But I'm only asking for a controller where the analog sticks are switched. I actually still like the d-pad on the left and buttons on the right.

Supposedly such a mod is not easy to do, with high risk of permanently damaging the controller. (it's not too hard with the 360 controller, but it sounds like a lot of people are having problems doing this to a PS3 controller) While I want to learn how to do such a mod, I don't have the money to buy multiple controllers to experiment with.

When? Since I became a potential consumer with money. If Sony wants more of my and the many other Southpaw players' money, they are very much so obligated to do something.I'm gonna start pressuring Microsoft to do something too. On the Guide menu, you can actually choose a Southpaw option in your Profile settings. Most game ignore it, but the option is there nevertheless. It's just a matter of Microsoft forcing companies to actually respond to this setting. If that ever happens, you better bet Sony has an obligation to do something as well.

This is not that difficult of a thing for Sony to make. They're not going to lose money on this. If they're that concerned about losing money, at least sell it on the official Playstation website in Custom Order format. Even if I have to pay a little more, I don't care. I just want it.

Again, like Barry said, Sony isn't obligated to make such controller just because YOU want and demand it. Sony stands to LOSE money by making it, because why would they spend tons of money to produce just the minimum amount of product, yet only sell 1% of it?
If you want a controller so bad, then go make one yourself, or invest money in a company to do so. Demanding it over an internet forum isn't going to create results.
