What is it for? Should I press it anyways? What if it's "Self-Destruct" written in a tricky foreign language?

If your controller is un-responsive press it. If you press it, it would be like brand new, meaning you would have to re-sync it with your PS3, I believe :smileywink:

It restores your Sixaxis back to factory defaults i.e. desynchronize the controller.

It de-sync's it from your PS3.  After you press the reset button, it won't work with your PS3, unless you plug it in again with the USB cable and press the PS button.
