I had the problem of Ylod several times but i followed this youtube tutorial and fixed it about 5 times on my own.
however when put it together after another reflow, there isn't even a standby light anymore or it doesn't get ANY power.
i had this problem once before but i forgot to plug the power button back in. i also thought of this first but i checked twice and it was all plugged in.
so now what is the problem? the power supply itself? i have no idea and even think of kicking my 60 gig out of the window and buy one of these ugly, not downwartscompatible, ps3 slim versions.

That's a power cord, not a power supply. Completely different things.

Maybe its the power cord. Go to Gamestop and purchase a used/new PS3 power supply. If the problem still exists, then your PS3 is pretty much dead. Hope all goes well.
