I wonder if our expectations make it seem hotter than it is.
With everyone talking about smaller chips ..... less heat for the last month, it would be easy to get our expectations a little off.
I got mine yesterday. I ran for 11 or so hours. I was not doing heavy play all that time.
I agree .... a fair amount of warm are is coming out the back (designed to do that). The top of mine was actually like luke warm but ..... yes the back was doing the warm air blast ... like it was designed to do.
PS3 runs hot normally.
Even the slim will run hot.
If the CPU is designed to run at 130 degrees - then that's what it will be at.
Sure the smaller chipset creates less heat which requires a smaller fan - but if it's designed to run at 130 - less heat production means a smaller fan is needed to keep it running at 130 - the larger the die - the larger the fan needed.
