I agree, however as marketing goes the average consumer will be convinced by MARKETING that they have to have 1.3
The technology is cool and i agree we dont need it right now, but somebody somewhere is gonna make money from it.
Then again, there was alot of hype about the virtual boy at one time too
i think there is no 1.3 cable just a hdmi cable with a 1.3 name and once that is in your mind you begin to see all the "new" features this cable has but they don't really exist lol im kidding nvm i wont be getting it.
"So the topic of the moment is HDMI v1.3. Basically I've seen a lot of people talking about how you shouldn't buy a tv now, because it won't have v1.3 (no 1.3 tv's are on the market yet) and we should wait till it comes out... Anyway, here's a little blurb on why it won't be all it's cracked up to be..."
your wrong on so many levels and you need to better research.. HDMI 1.3 has been around since 2008/2009 i own a TV that supports 1.3 PNB650 plasma from Samsung thats from Nov-2009 ...the booklet says it and the manufacture does to. I was looking for a TV that supports HDMI 1.3 before i purchased it. There are alot of benefits. You havent coverd everything and the fact you said NO TV SUPPORTS HDMI 1.3 made you topic less accurate. BTW im a big home Audio/video file 18 years and counting and its what i do for a living. You can even google HDMI 1.3 Tvs and most reviews like C-net will tell you what type of HDMI version it is. remarks like:
"which I constantly see being cited as "revolutionizing" the tv world.. LOL..."
shows you really dont even know what your talking ...most your statements are personal opinions stated as facts when your wrong.. btw all 3D TVs use HDMI 1.4 which is backwards compatible to 1.3. Some of your information is accurate but most isnt. if it wasn't so late here id debunk your post. If you want to "debate video/Audio" go to a home Audio forum, they will tear correct you.

Did you stop to check the dates on this thread? It's from back in 2008.
