Okay, well yesturday after finshing a few games of Call of Duty World at War, my PS3 started to act different, then it randomly froze, the system shut down, and the red link continued to blink until I flipped the switch in the back. It's sitting besides a air conditioner so I know it's not over heating, so I booted my PS3 in safe mode and restored my File System which took 2 tries first time resulting in a freeze again. Now, it loads to my XMB and then freezes randomly. How could I fix this?

the problem is you play call of duty anyways. since you said it freezes in XMB, its probably not bluray drive problem. The problem is probably either hardrive or overheating due to old thermal paste. which PS3 do you have?

Hate to be the one to tell you but sounds like your system is about to die.
You may have to either get it sent out for repair or here is some tips from another user that may help pro-long the life of your system.
If you don't want to shell out the $$ to get it repaired I do suggest atleast opening and cleaning the system out and replacing the thermal paste if you comfortable with that.
