I have the original 60gb model PS3
I went into safe mode one day to wipe the drive and restore the PS3 system and after that I got the error code 8001002B. Is this a harddrive problem? Any advice?
could be . when i researched the error code it can be anything that can't be read ie hdd and game discs. some just cleaned there blu ray discs and it worked for them but for myself i had the original 60g and it just suddenly packed in and froze ( but i also had the red flashing light which is said to be the ps3 telling you it's ovrheating )
i've since reformated the hdd but my ps3 wouldn't run properly so i've invested in a new 160g hdd drive (£70) and it runs a treat now but this may not be the fix for you.
sony don't help all they wanted to do was to do a swap at a cost of £131.............
if you know anyone with a broken or even spare hdd drive you could try that first as thats the way i found out when i tried my brothers broken ps3 hdd on mine and after formating it to mine worked fine. hope this info helps...
I had that same error code come up on my PS3. I found thiswebsite www.videogame911.com that do repairs and offer to save data. I got my system back with my game saves (even got an upgrade) and it wasso fast.
