I did just install a Blu Ray remote, I was wondering if that somehow screwed up the way Netflix instant viewing movie selection is displayed. I was watching movies last night and it was normal and when I programmed the Bluetooth remote for the ps3 the netflix is all screwy. but I don't know if the remote caused it. so could anyone check their netflix movie selection and tell me if its just me with this problem? thanks
I mentiond this elsewhere too, but yes, I have Netflix on the PS3 and on the 11th it changed the interface on me too, and I didn't install or change anything. I like the new pop-up style when I select a show, but everything else is worse than before. As you said, I can no longer search sub-genres either. Also looking at any long list, like my queue (or just about anything), is nearly useless trying to scroll horizontally through hundreds of entries (rather than letting them fill the entire screen and scrolling a line at a time). Especially since once you start scrolling quickly it neither updates the title images, nor even what number you're on until you stop! So basically you get a bunch of flickering white squares with no idea where you are in the list until you stop. It's like if you were trying to fast forward through a movie, but all you get is a white screen until you stop to see where you are. Useless. Why would they do this?
same thing here, i agree. i don't like the menus. sub-genres to filter more queries are relevant. dont know why they changed it. hopefully, they revert it back.
Netfilx is changing their subscription plans effective immediately. It's going to cost you $7.99 for streaming, $7.99 for discs, and $15.99 for BOTH.
So much for streaming media being "the future".
I am frustrated with the change as well.
Why would you restrict the ability to search for movies on the PS3? Maybe there are issues with the PS3 hardware's ability to handle the amount of information when searching for movies? I doubt it. Whatever the case may be, my advice to whom it may concern is to create a Netflix interface that is as similar to the PC interface as possible. This interface is too restrictive and severely limits the user's ability to search for movies.
This is the same interface we have had here in Canada for about a year now.
The old interface you are used to, we had here for about a week when Netflix was launched, then it changed.
I agree, the old one was better. This new one only shows you 75 movies per genre, and no matter what you do, you can't see anymore than that. How these movies get picked is beyond me, as I can never find anything worth watching from that list. And, if something is in that list of 75 one week, I may not find it there the next week.
This is truly a step backwards in my opinion. Why would any company purposely make it harder for you to use their service?
