my old phat 80 gig ps3 died, and i bought a new 320gig ps3. i called sony they deacivated my old account no problems. No reciept was asked for, only wanted my seriel numbers for my new ps3. The guy was very nice and very helpfull said all should be fine in about 15 to 20 minutes. Although in the end he said if your system breaks you will have to send it to us and with a cost of $150.00? I told him thank you very much for your help and have a nice day
All this started because my new ps3 320 gig would not let me download a video from the video psn (games had no problems). It was saying 5 ps3 only or something like that. (i had no clue sony was keeping track?? took me a few days of research to find all this out)
my first ps3 was a 60 gig (gift) to which i only kept for 3 days. swap for an 80 gig. then i found out you can change hdd so i swap hard drive for a 250gig on my 80gig.
1= ps3 60gig
2= ps3 80gig
P.S. Oh and guy said you can have 5 active ps3's for games but only 1 for video?
maybe you should call again and speak nice to these people, yelling and talking crap to them will get you nowhere (i'm not saying you did) but be honest. the truth will set you free. anyways i hope all works out for you.
