if i can understand this correctly your having trouble with playing asassins creed 3  while having a movie on your system?  if i'm wrong here then correct me please.

but what id had to do for mine when id replaced the 80 gb drive with a 500 gb  was restore from factory settings to make it work fine. movies games and such are no problem for me now. so maybe its the connection between your ps3 and your net  and that you need to overhaul the entire drive to get things sorted out like id had to , at least mine works like a dream  come true

so if all else fails then restore from factory . that should help
