ps2 games on ps3

Hi i just got a ps3 super slim for X-mas and was wondering if I could play ps2 games on it. Sence my cusion who is smart with electronics douted it i looked it up and saw there was an app so i downloaded it and instaled it. After i turned my PS of and on again after 5 minuites. I tried to play one of my old ps games and it said uncompasable and went through all my catagories and didnt see anything new. then i trieid to make a memory card in hopes thats what was mising and it faild. my ps3 super slim is a 250gb and i wonder if thats the problem its the one that comes with both imfamis and both uncharted 1 and 2.. can u plz tell me if its even posible to play them?

No it is not possible to play PS2 games on your model. Only early PS3 models made from 2006-2007 could play PS2 games, since it had PS2 hardware inside the system. That has since been removed.

That app you downloaded, was only for models that could already play PS2 games...
