online play through direct connect - possible?

1 replies 66 views Edited Dec 8, 2012

Hi - my friend and I, who until recently have been able to play NHL2K10 online, are trying to find some possible way to continue playing head-to-head while he is 2 hours away (2K Network just removed all hockey online capability from their servers in November).  I host a franchise on my ps3 console, start a game, then invite him to join...that is how we played until recently.  Talking with someone at gamestop he said it might be possible to continue playing head-to-head through direct connect by possibly synchronizing the routers.  Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how to set up the direct connection accordingly...?  Please help.  Thanks you to anyone for your input!!!

No.  If a game used PSN for online game-play, then the game is no longer playable online once the servers are shut down.  You can't create online matches without the servers, even if the actual games were hosted on a player's PS3.
