Cant you just use a USB keyboard and mouse and plug in straight in the PS?
That works for me.... But I also have the official keyboard (which I hate)

No. Your PS3 won't be useful in providing a keyboard and mouse when you are accessing the Internet on your phone. Aside from receiving media streams from media servers on a home network, the PS3 doesn't integrate with any other devices except for portable Playstation consoles, and PCs running Sony's Remote Play software. I assume that your phone supports Bluetooth keyboards and mice, as the PS3 does. That would probably be your only option, unless your phone supports a keyboard via its USB or accessory port.

Why not use the phone as a mobile Hot Spot, and run the PS3 off of that? Then any wireless keyboard and mouse will work through the PS3. I use a crappy Logitec pair for the PS3, and it works fine on its own. Maybe I misunderstand though.

The problem with that plan is that you are using the PS3 browser, which is a "limited use" web client. The phone makes a better browser, especially if it is an Android or Windows Phone device.

Point taken. Thank you.
