WE FOUND THE FIX FOR UPDATE 3.56 V1 And V2

26 replies 1060 views Edited Feb 8, 2011

i know How to fix Ps3 Update 3.56

1.) put your old HDD in update that to the latest update by click system update then hit via internet

2.) now get the update from the ps3 web site put that on a usb

3.) put your new drive in that has no ps3 FW on it put your usb in follow the instructions on the screen

4.) boom the update should work after that the XMB should start go to update again and click update via internet why do update again is because sony did not put this up date for V2 3.56 on the web site

Why you have to do all of this is because sony never upload 3.56 V2 on their web site

If you formated the old drive go to friends house update his drive then back it up

next put in your HDD his PS3 then do steps 1-4 go home put your drive in the PS3 boot screen will load formate the drive then do steps 2-4

And THAT'S IT

A Thanks to Billeyjbob5000 And war-lord-2112

Are you sure PS3 will load system from another working HDD?

Because I already tried it and each HDD is paired with PS3, you have to format the HDD to make it running.

Test it and don't mislead people.

If the new HDD is formated from another PS3,wouldn't the new HDD be coded to only work on that PS3?

What's your fat model number? Some fats have a 256MB NAND and others have 16 MB NAND.The 256MB holds all the firmware. The

16MB holds part of the firmware in the NAND and HDD.

IF your trying to go from fat to slim vica versa not gonig to work two different nands

Once the HDD has the FW on it, its almost like an "hole" or "opening" that allows the FW to be "updated" and installed" this exact method minus the internet stuff is exactly what i ddit ot get my PS3 up and running when i swapped out HDD's once that FW was loaded it was good to go, pretty hard to mes up at that point

This is an email I received from Sony Support on the weekend.  It sounds pretty clear, but if people are still having issues then please respond.

I do not have a problem to report, but after searching the PS forums for information and related web searches I feel I would be best served by contacting the Knowledge Center directly in order to be proactive and properly informed.

I want to upgrade my HD, but before I do so I would like to confirm any difficulties with respect to the new 3.56 FW update. I have PS3 model CECHH01.

Based on the EU forums, I understand that others who have performed their upgrades have run into difficulties. Before I perform the upgrade, I just wanted to confirm that it is ok to do so with FW 3.56.

There is no urgency to my query. I will wait for your answer before proceeding.
